Grace Episcopal Church Alvin | Food Ministry

More than groceries —
dignity, relationship, and hope.

At Grace Episcopal Church in Alvin, our food ministry is about more than groceries —
it’s about dignity, relationship, and showing up when people are hurting.

What we’re doing is simple, but it’s powerful:
we meet real needs with real compassion — and we remind people they are not alone.

Partnering with the Houston Food Bank • Serving Alvin and surrounding communities

We lead with dignity

We serve with respect, confidentiality, and the belief that every person bears God’s image.

We build relationship

Neighbors come in as strangers and leave knowing they are seen, welcomed, and loved.

We show up consistently

Because steady presence matters — especially when someone is hurting or overwhelmed.

“Over the last four years, partnering with the Houston Food Bank,
we’ve shared more than three million pounds of food with families across our community —
neighbors who are working, seniors who are homebound, parents choosing between rent and groceries,
and children who just need enough to eat.”

But we’re most proud of the people.

Thousands of volunteers giving their time. Homebound seniors who know someone will knock on their door.
Families who leave with more than food — they leave with connection.
